Most every item we bought communicates the kind of person we are. What you wear, the food you eat, the music you choose, all speak volumes about who you are. Even the luggage you choose can tell a lot about you.

An individual spotted with leather luggage on their baggages communicates a message of elegance, style and wealth. Mismatched luggage or cardboard boxes clearly shout: student! It's easy to spot skiers in an airport and when you see someone with a few hardside metal cases, you hope they don't hold weapons, but camera equipment.

But here is a particular item of luggage that really communicates widely about the person carrying it. Backpack luggage is most certainly not for everyone. It takes a certain person with a certain background and traveling purpose to choose a backpack as their choice of traveling luggage.

Backpacks are mostly harnessed by those who will be doing plenty of traveling and sightseeing by foot and require to carry their belongings in the most comfortable way. When you see someone in the airport with a backpack on, you wonder what type of adventure they're heading out to.

Backpacks are very uniquely shaped and made as compared to other bags. They are usually deeper and filled from the top, although you can find backpacks that resemble more of a suitcase with arm straps in the way they open. Various pocket and compartments all around the backpack fit a wide array of personal items and necessities.

As previously mentioned, bearing a heavy load is most conveniently carried on the back, as holding it by hand is going to be very straining to the arms. However, this mostly goes for those traveling over uneven terrain. On smooth ground the simplest way to take your luggage with you is to pull it on wheels. Not long ago this wasn't an option for backpackers, but now there are some highly advanced backpacks that have super lightweight pull out handles and wheels for pulling the bag along as you go.

Backpack luggage is mostly and basically taken up by those who plan to tour the world and really join the bandwagon of sightseeing, most especially in natural environments, where they may not have a hotel room to return to, but be traveling from one available accommodation to another.

The outgoing and adventurous kind of person are surely the ones who will be targeting for a backpack for their travels, but they don't have to settle for the backpacks of days gone by. No longer do you have to suffer through carrying all your belongings in a bag that is heavy even before it's been packed and that has uncomfortable straps. The latest bags are made to distribute weight very evenly and have excellent straps and belts to make carrying your possessions easier than ever. And with the wheeled version, getting around can be even easier.
