Packing Lightweight Luggage For Easier Travel

Going on short trips doesn't require the huge luggage sets that you would need on a prolonged vacation, trip, or visit. Light weight luggage is a fantastic alternative to carrying around heavy, bulky baggage. However, sometimes we tend to over pack, even our lightweight luggage, with a lot of things we don't need. This makes it difficult to travel light, or can damage the luggage by trying to force it closed.


Lightweight luggage doesn't mean that you can stuff it full and it is still lightweight. In order to make sure you are packing effectively you can follow a few simple rules for traveling light.

Plan Your Pack

If you are waiting for the last minute to just "throw" some things into a bag, then you are typically going to over pack. A few minutes spent planning out what you are going to wear each day of your trip will help you cut back on the amount of clothing you actually take. This means you can use your lightweight luggage and travel much more efficiently.

Pack Lightweight And Wrinkle Free

How many times have you been in a rush and threw a bunch of stuff into your bag only to reach your destination and have to iron everything or look like you are actually dressing out of a suitcase. You can pack everything you need in your lightweight luggage by taking some time to pack light.

By simply rolling your clothes you can save room in your luggage and also keep your clothes wrinkle free. Another packing strategy is to fold your clothes in flat squares for neat stacking and organizing. Another space saving technique it to use a space saver bag that you can vacuum out the air to compress the clothes.

Wear Your Shoes

A lot of people only need a pair or two of shoes on their trip. Depending on the season you can wear your sneakers, or dress shoes on the trip while packing sandals, and other types of lightweight shoes. Take a few minutes to think about the shoes will actually be needing. You won't need any dress shoes if you are going on a vacation to Disney World, while at the same time you probably won't be needing any sandals if you are going to Michigan to visit family in near Christmas.

Personal Accessories

Many of the things that people pack in their lightweight luggage can be found at most hotels today. Things like hair dryers, irons, and towels are already at your destination so you can keep them at home. Not only are you traveling lighter, but you don't have to worry about losing anything. If you keep them together in one small travel bag for your personal items you are also saving space in your bag.

Using lightweight luggage is a great way to travel comfortably and efficiently. Of course, if you are going on a long trip, you can still use these packing tips to travel lighter and keep everything organized in your luggage.
